DOS BUQUES DE LA ROYAL NAVY INGLESA COLISIONARON EN EL GOLFO PÉRSICO (Actualización urgente)

Diversos medios británicos e internacionales, generales y especializados informan de la colisión de dos dragaminas de la Royal Navy en la base naval británica en Bahrein. Así lo hizo público el Ministerio de Defensa del Reino Unido. Según se sabe el incidente no dejó heridos pero las imágenes que trascendieron muestran un inmenso agujero en una de las naves. En un vídeo que circula en las redes sociales se puede ver a una de las naves, la HMS Chiddingfold, dando marcha atrás y estrellándose contra la otra, la HMS Bangor, que estaba amarrada.

Los buques involucrados en el incidente son de la clase Hunt, diseñados para buscar y destruir minas, así como operaciones de patrulla costera y de seguridad marítima. Esta clase de cazadores de minas están fabricados de plástico reforzado con fibra de vidrio, lo que minimiza el riesgo de detección por minas marinas. Están armados con un cañón DS30B Mk 1 de 30 mm; dos Miniguns (reemplazadas por ametralladoras pesadas Browning calibre .50 a partir de 2023) y por 3 ametralladoras de uso general.

TWO BRITISH ROYAL NAVY SHIPS COLLIDED IN THE PERSIAN GULF
Various British and international, general and specialized media report the collision of two Royal Navy minesweepers at the British naval base in Bahrain. This was made public by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense. No one was injured but the images that emerged show an immense hole in one of the ships. As built, the two Hunt-class minhunters combined the separate roles of the traditional minesweeper and that of the active minehunter in one hull, but later modifications saw the removal of mine-sweeping equipment. They have a secondary role as offshore patrol vessels. This class of minehunters are made of of glass-reinforced plastic, which minimizes the risk of detection by sea mines. They are armed with a 30 mm DS30B Mk 1 cannon; two Miniguns (replaced by .50 caliber Browning heavy machine guns starting in 2023) and 3 general purpose machine guns.
